“These guys are screwing it all up. That’s never gonna last. I could have done this in half the time.”

Probably wants to help. Poor fella sitting there with nothing to do in a cage.

    3. The rest of his family has nothing to be bothered by because the umarell gorilla is doing such a fine job watching over things.

I too would be very concerned if a bunch of bald little elves started building unknown structures looming over my home

    5. “How did that weird monki get up there? Why isn’t he swinging? What’s he doing? And what am I doing? Why am I watching him? Am I really that bored? What am I doing with my life? ”

i feel like its the drill sound, maybe he thinks its another gorilla doing a chest beat. Also gorillas are amazing.

How well built silverbacks are is amazing, the size of those arms, legs, shoulders, neck etc is scary, real shame to see them locked up though

    8. This gorilla is just standing there watching construction like an Italian umarell. Hands behind back energy even without hands behind back.

For anyone who doesn’t know, an “umarell” is an Italian term for old retired men who stand near construction sites and watch the workers like they’re supervising the whole project.

Don’t ask my why I know, I just found this video doom scrolling and it amused me no end. One day I think I will be like them.

    9. This is every dad, up early on Sunday morning, outside, wondering why he is hearing a drill and where the fuck is it coming from.

    10. Fast forward a few days… Silverback seen wearing a hard hat and tattered hivis vest. And the crew can’t find Shelby?! 🧐

    11. I imagine being stuck in a zoo, the view rarely changes. It’s probably the only remotely interesting thing that’s happened in a month.

    12. Seeing him gave me the feeling of “Umarell”.
Enjoyable watching him being genuinely interested, bit concerned even maybe at some points.
And still the stupid people saying that animals aren’t smart or can’t feel/show emotions.

Isn’t it his who job to watch out for the guys? The family carries on and he watches for signs of danger. That’s nature.

You know those neighborhood dads that will watch any and all construction crews that show up to fix shit?

Hes doing exactly what hes supposed to be doing, the rest of his family is unbothered because he hasn’t signaled potential danger.

      He’s considering a career change.

Can climb, carry heavy stuff, have opposable thumbs.

      Meets basic criteria.

      Will work for bananas
